Project Jerusalem
Our Vision
We envision the recruiting of hundreds of young leaders to BBS so that they can be challenged, trained, and equipped to be effective church planters, some in North America and others around the world.
We envision our deploying seminary church planting teams to plant hundreds of healthy, growing, reproducing, Baptist churches in the Northeast so that the concentric circles of impact, motivation, and resources will move out around the world resulting in the multiplying of thousands of other new churches (see Acts 1:8). Our great desire is to multiply leaders who can multiply churches which can multiply disciples of Christ throughout the world (see II Tim. 2:2.)
We envision sending out scores of
well-prepared seminary teams to work alongside of established
congregations to intentionally plant dozens of biblical yet
culturally relevant churches in numerous needy urban and ethnic
communities of the Northeast.
We envision developing active partnerships with parenting
churches who will enable our seminary teams by providing the
needed human resources to launch these dynamic new churches.
We envision cultivating committed relationships with 200 other Great Commission minded churches across the USA which can facilitate these church planting efforts by regularly praying for and financially supporting Project Jerusalem. We envision identifying and recruiting a growing intercessory team of prayer warriors to undergird all of our planting projects – at least 10 prayer partners for each community and 25 prayer partners for each seminary church planter.
We envision developing a growing network of planted churches and dynamic church leaders which come together regularly to encourage one another to keep on growing and reproducing for the cause of Christ and the global harvest.
We envision developing a network of experienced and skilled church planters and dynamic new churches committed to partnering with Project Jerusalem in training, mentoring and providing sites for new church planters.
Our dream is that
ultimately Project Jerusalem would be the catalyst for the
launching of a church planting movement whose impact would be
felt around the globe. Our great desire and prayer is to see
God's glory known, loved, praised, and prized among the peoples
and nations who have come to worship His Son, Jesus Christ,
through the dynamic outreach of worshipping churches. (See John
Piper's book, Let the Nations Be Glad.)
The Northeast, with its massive population, is one of the least evangelized and Spiritually - impoverished areas of the country. Baptist Bible Seminary is looking to change that statistic, targeting needy urban, ethnic, and rural communities for new church plants.
Project Jerusalem's innovative strategy partners Baptist Bible Seminary' Master Divinity students with independent churches, state associations, and mission agencies to intentionally train church planters by planting healthy churches in the Northeastern United States. Student receive appropriate assessment, training, mentoring, deployment, and support through an internship that gives the student abundant opportunity to succeed in planting a dynamic church.
Do you have the desire to share your faith and see Bible- believing churches planted and spawning new churches that will reach out to a lost world? If you answered "yes" then our Church Planting concentration and Project Jerusalem may be the place for you!
